Lent is about simple thing as a famous writer once wrote. But while ‘holding meds on that’ I went on to reflect on Konshens and Tarrus Riley song, “Simple Blessings”.

Hey, you no notice your blessings?

We all know it is Lent, and let us make it simple and yet a blessing

Lent is a journey of 40 days and 40nights

A time to change, a time to gaze on Christ

Time to wait quietly yet actively

Yes! Lent is more than a quiet walk with Jesus

There is a talk, a chat, continues catching up with Him

 

It is hard to walk this desert road alone

The Desert is full of deathstalker scorpions, thorny devils, and, armadillo lizard

Walking alone would be scary

Let us walk together, together as a Church, together as a people of God

Lent is recognizing we belong together

Lent is memorable if you walk with the Word

As you read the Word

Reflecting, Meditating, and praying

Giving alms and challenging your flesh

That makes Lent meaningful
