#Bloganuary Day 4
What brings you joy in life?
“Joy is defined as a feeling of great pleasure and happiness”….. While happiness is in acquiring, joy is often in sacrificing.
Nancy Pekarek put it this way to define joy, “Joy is the expression of the simple and surprising moments we experience more often than we think. They are expressions of God, of the sacred, and only found when we take the moments to reflect. It’s a practice. It’s a discipline.”
Twisting Marianne Williamson’s words and changing the word “love” with “joy” I would define Joy as when…… “Something amazing happens when we surrender and just be joyful, we melt into another world, a realm of power already within us. The world changes when we change, the world softens when we soften. The world smiles at us when we choose to bring joy to the world.”
What brings me joy is when I am a blessing to someone else. When I am not the reason for them to falter. When I am not the reason for them to shed tears.
When I am an eye to the blind.
When I am the hands to the amputee.
When I am a leg to the crippled.
When I become a support to them, offering my shoulder for them to lean.
When I lead them to be grateful that they met me.
When I give them a reason to see tomorrow
When I turn their sad tears to tears of joy ….
This is what brings me joy.
