Don’t be Judas

Have you ever wonder why in our society family betray family, friend betray friend even after many years together?

Would it be the same with the situation we are presented with by the Gospel of Matthew 25: 14-25?
How could Judas do that? They walked together with Jesus, shared many occasions together, they even eat together night before he betrayed him. But while pointing fingers on him I am reminded, “Don’t I do the some every time I sin?”

Being honest with myself……I do it for far less than 30 pieces of Silver.

I profess my love for God with my lips and betray Him with my actions daily.

Today as we reflect on Judas, let us make Sure we are NOT Judas.

The only thing that Separate Judas from Salvation was repentance. And we are fortunate to have the sacrament of Reconciliation.

That requires humility. Humility to bring our sinful self before God again and again wherever we fall Short of His grace.

During this Holy Week let us be reminded of the fate Judas chose and let it inspire us to ask ourselves:
What fate will I choose?

Below is a reflection that was done by Rev. Fr. Marc Nguemo

…… Thoughtful Thoughts …….Are you not ashamed to ask: “what are you willing to give me if I hand him over to you?” ……. so the brother or sister you have is worth money for you to sell him or her as Judas did in *Mt 26:14-25?*

What a pity that we forget so soon what our beloved ones are to us when we have the least opportunity to betray them? Judas had all the privileges given him by Jesus, yet, he did not for one second think of the Love and trust Jesus gave him. How many people have taken you as a brother or sister and yet the only joy you had was to betray them? How do you really feel today to see those who gave you all confidence suffering just because you could not be worthy? Change today.
